There is no way that Intel's admission of defeat adds uncertainty to the situation. The Mavica was cute for a while. IMHO its limited resolution will lead to a fall off of sales in the near-term. It did capture a big chunk of the digital camera market to date which had a significant impact on SanDisk. SmartMedia remains a problem. It is cheap. The storage capacity is increasing. However, there are problems with backward compatibility. Also, design-ins pale in comparison to those awarded CF. This fall will be the true test for SNDK. Everyone on the thread should consider a digital camera for a holiday or birthday gift. Don't forget a couple of CompactFlash cards as well. Aus
