giraffe...why do japanese, eorope, se asia, etc. buy us$? why do they buy our debt? because it is backed by the "full faith and credit" of the usa gov't. period. the day that belief fades is the day gold will shine. any factor that influences the belief that holds the $ up is relevant for discussion, IMO.

Giraffe, why I think Clinton's behavior is relevant to the price of gold. While he has been involved in this mess, he has avoided the serious threats facing our country. The y2k crisis is HUGE and will be globally devastating. He should have declared war on the problem and offered leadership to combat it. Instead he has been silent...for months he avoided press conferences over this Monica story. Also the world economy is a mess. Where is he on that...silent. These REAL problems are going to collapse our stock market and economy... Nero fiddled while Rome burned! ------gold will benefit! IMHO LL
