I cannot express how personally rewarding it was to get the market call right. It was tough this weekend as the "sky is falling" was all over the threads. Further, to make a bullish call in the face of a horribly bearish BAMBI was even more difficult.

Seems that even a blind man can find the light switch occasionally, but does the light come on? You can imagine the irony that my only financial planning client chose Monday to terminate my services. They paid so dearly for my learning curve over the last few years that it only saddens me, that when I finally think I found the key, they go away.

The offer they declined was really rather unique. I would only be entitled to compensation if I beat the Index. To the extent that I beat the Index, I would receive 50% of the excess. Further, in acknowlegement that they had paid for my learning curve, I would only receive 25% of the excess until the historical numbers exceeded the Index and a "surplus" return of $100K was "in the bank". Sure seemed fair to me!

I will be seeking employment as an "analyst" in the securities field, so if any of the dudes hear about something, let me know. I don't particularly care about location as I find that I'm happy as long as I have my computer.

Being an eternal optimist, I look forward to the future. I really have enjoyed this sandbox and all the dudes.
