Friedman: (Noble Prize Dude)
The IMF is responsible for SEA crisis. The bailout is not helping the people, but the US, UK and German Banks etc. The American taxpayer should have to bail out banks for making bad loans. The IMF should be closed.

Byron Wien (Morgan Stanely Dean Witter Guru):
Investors have been condition to buy 10% pullbacks. Every 10% pullback since 1990 has resulted in a sharp run up. He believes market made its high for the year in July. Most stocks in a bear market this year. He expects this to be an index rally only. Investors should sell into the rallies. He believes this is a dangerous period. Only hold stocks you have long term commitments in. He expects Dow 10K in 1999.

Hi Jim,

One of these days when I make it down to the coast from Austin, I want to buy you a drink and see if you really can rise into the air while giving a speach <grin>.

Looks like a huge up day in Asia. I guess they liked the Clinton story, or at least liked the fact that the U.S. market liked the story.

Best wishes,
