<<I predict that if the Republicans do not drop this we could see the next U.S. Civil War complete with bombings.>> I truly hope we don't escalate to this, but I have to confess that when you look at who is in power in the leadership, especially of the Republican Party, it looks like we're fighting the issues of the Civil War over again -- the principles of the South are being put in place step by step by the Lotts, Gingrichs, etc. In fact, the current US political climate seems to me to be remarkably reminiscent of England in the 17th Century - the Roundheads, Cromwell, and all that. Civil War was the result then too.
