martin, Astra can not partner nor purchase Vivus because of legalities with Merck. Leaves only one obvious candidate for partnering or aquiring Vivus. Janssen isn't going to dump all this money into milestone payments to give their territories away. He who has Asia will make the most on this product. Janssen is a part of JNJ. They have approval in and are above us in Canada and below us in Mexico. If JNJ swollows Vivus they will have the entire North America. Excluding Astra's territory, once Asia is fully launched and with the US and Japan included, MUSE should bring in gross sales of over one billion dollars even with Viagra.

Mkilloran, I did say the stock buy back was the only sensiable thing I have seen this company do which could not have been predicted. But on that account itself I wrote NOT to buy VVUS @ 13 at the time! Everything else I have seen since december anyone with some common sence and a little business savy could have done better. HECK even after all this, they are still not learning. The last press release shows that! Sending a bimbo to get institutional support! These guys are real jokers! No one expects miracles, doing business is tough! But man, use some common sence, see what makes even the slightest business sence. How the investors will react.
