PC, Yup, I've held on to at least a small position of Medtronic since 1967. It is only a third right now. I've been through a lot of periods where they've been challenged and they've always survived. Some day they may not, but I have stuck with them too long and it is kind of an experiment of mine to have one buy and hold stock.

I want to see if Denton Cooley lets any brand names slip on his live heart operation.

St. Jude is a company I've played many times, mainly for their valves, which are not so important now. I don't know Guidant.

MDT definitely fits the model of an overpriced Med Tech stock, and I'm not recommending it to anyone else. But I am not going to zero on it.
