Kind of shocking that with the huge pile of O200's the US Post Office bought for handwriting recognition that the Postal service has far better up-time and reliability for their "productivity enhancing" systems that a US capital ship has for it's mission critical ones.

Heck the Navy could download for FREE a more stable operating system for the computers the already have installed -- but that's a separate thread.

I have no doubt that the en-gin-ears at SGI would have never ever recommend NT for such an application. SGI has smart engineers with integrity. On the other hand I've successfully run SMP linux on a four headed integraph machine. It was fast and stable. Anyway the
point of my comment was, given that in the high end of applications NT is rated by en-gin-ears somewhere between sucks and unsafe at any speed, Does it make sense that SGI can generate any revenue selling NT boxes.

Boy doesn't Linus look nice on the cover of Forbes. I'm wondering when Linus will be on the late night talk show circuit garnering mindshare. Well the fifth riches man in knows when this will happen.
Cause Linus works for him.

How to make money on linux, Applix is cheap and I think it has linus coat tails.

Remember, an Intel processor is a terrible thing to infect with a borg virus. Over 7.4 MILLION processors have been disinfected.
