Mudcat, It's not the math. It's the concept of representing a $0.05 change in percentage terms. In percentage terms your 167% decrease pales when compared to the loss reduction of over 1000% between the new numbers for 3Q (a loss of $0.21) are compared to 4Q (a loss of $0.02).

watch henry now say that % terms is 'misleading'. When he wanted to blame LGND's fall on 'the market' he stated that the dow's drop was the "third greatest point drop in history", even though in % terms it didn't even make the top 20.

He argued then that his statement was not misleading as it was true.
The same goes for your analysis, however, now he will quickly jump the fence and argue that you are misleading. He is indeed the Spinmaster!
