AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- iDOT.com, the first PC company built for the Web, today announced its sponsorship of a virtual computer storefront on broadcast.com (Nasdaq: BCST), one of the busiest destinations on the Internet.

Serving an average of more than 460,000 unique users daily, broadcast.com is the Web's leading aggregator and broadcaster of streaming media programming with the network infrastructure and expertise to deliver or "stream" hundreds of live and on-demand audio and video programs over the Internet or intranets. Broadcast.com's extensive programming line-up includes sports, talk and music radio, television, business events, full-length CDs, news, commentary and full-length audio books.

iDOT.com will be featured throughout broadcast.com's site. Upon clicking the iDOT.com link, users will go to a microsite featuring iDOT.com's product line and additional links to the iDOT.com PC configurator and store (http://www.idot.com). In addition, iDOT.com will receive banner impressions on the Broadcast.com site and sponsorship of broadcast.com's e-mail newsletter.

iDOT.com PCs -- which range from an entry level model priced at $699 to an award-winning 400MHz Pentium II-powered system priced at $1,599 -- are built with top-flight components from Intel, AMD, IBM and others, and feature the most advanced technologies from the industry's hardware and software leaders.

"The agreement with broadcast.com exemplifies iDOT.com's commitment to leverage the Internet as our primary advertising medium," said Neil Bremner, iDOT.com's executive vice president. "Thanks to the popularity of broadcast.com and the wide audience reach of their distribution network, we believe this will accelerate our plans to literally put our storefront on the forefront of the World Wide Web."

Based in Austin, iDOT.com is the first PC company built for the Web. It is backed by a $3.5-million private venture fund. The management team includes former executives from Motorola, Power Computing, Dell, CompuAdd and others.
