MMV,

I agree with you. Brinker's credibility will be established only if he can give a good pair of signals to sell, and (further down the road) to get back into the market. (By "good pair of signals", I mean signals that can beat the buy-and-hold investor.)

As for my purchase of SPY, I don't really care if Brinker was right or wrong about it this time. Unlike some others on this thread, I don't believe he is infallible.

Dipy.

MMV: It is always good to hear your voice on this thread. Thread
followers know that you broke the palpable silence here back in
December 1996 and got the ball rolling with that first post of yours.

My own view in regards to your imputed Brinker sycophancy
is that it is somewhat understandable given that there are per-
haps countless Brinker adherents who have substantially multi-
plied their net wealth beyond their dreams as a direct con-
sequence both of Brinker's sage market advice and his extra-
ordinarily accurate targeting of wealth building buyng oppor-
tunities. There are doubtless legion followers who ordinarily
would not have reached "the land of Critical Mass" or would
have done so only much later in their lives were it not for
Brinker. Therefore, there may be more gratitude than sycho-
phancy among the devotees. Indeed, even in the unlikely, but
nonetheless possible, event that Brinker's star should fall
from the sky in flames, there will still be countless many who
are much the richer, tangibly and intangibly, for listening to
Brinker.
