You DO NOT HAVE A LOSS TO MAKE UP!!

You had a trade, you lost, it's over. Move on to the next trade with the mindset of making a normal profit but not trying to recover a previous loss. If you hold something in expectation of recovering a past loss it will cloud your judgement about when to sell.

IMO Sell the Aug. options tomorrow. About mid-day start setting trailing stops (they only need to be mental). Once the stop is hit SELL. I repeat DON'T hold too long in hopes of recovering all of your loss. You may well recover it but you may also miss the peak because of your hopes.

robin,

Anyone not listenting to Harry Dent on Squawk Box is missing a real treat. I highly recommend "The Roaring 2000's". It presents the case of the continuing boom through demographics(boomer population worldwide) and the change in business focus from the channel to the customer better than anything I have read. Needless to say, Dent mentions Dell as one of the models for the coming decade. This way of doing business, the Direct Model, in my mind at least, dispels the tireless, trivial mindrot we are so often forced to listen to on this thread about Dell being "just a box maker". Never, ever confuse product with process.

Option opinions...

Robin,

Dell can be rough on us option players. Obviously, the best/easiest play is going long. Im convinced.

I own the Sept 120's. Im not happy with their behavior. Stock up $9, Sept 120's up $3 1/2. Maybe its to be expected, but Im a little uneasy with the situation currently. When I bought the MTD was $11. Oh well.

Please take the time to determine the DELTA and MTD (move to double) at given strike prices for your next trade.

If you want more info on above suggestions, let me know.
