Burt, I have seen that and have been attacked that way, but since I never respond in anger it is usually the other person who gives up or gets kicked off for a cool down period.
I used to get vilifying e-mails, and I posted them on SI, good for laughs.
Some are more tolerant than others.
TA is very much a herd reaction phenomenon and a TA who makes decisions in isolation may in fact find he is wrong most of the time. But if he gets the word out then people who agree with him run that way and the TA works and his guruness is confirmed.

TA back in the 20's was like that with tickers taking the place of the internet(they were used for messages and for quotes, if you had the right connection, an early form of telex). It also used the papers and famous TAs would print stuff and then the shep would rush to do it.

When a TA posts in advance there is always the suspicion he is engaging in market 'Judo' and causing the effect he predicts.
tell some one he is going to fall, and then trip him. Predict by TA that a stock will drop, tell 10,000 faithful and them that's in ruch to exit, voila: it falls. Same on buying. A small % disturbance in the equilibrium can make a stock move a tenfold amount in price, esp with followers.

Those who attacked him might have suspected him of that activity.

Why on earth would he tell others? If it worked as you said, just analyze, invest and profit.
I regard TAs the same way I regard those people who sell winning lottery ticket systems in the poor peoples papers(never WSJ). If they had a system, use it and retire.

Even so they should not have attacked personally. Where was SI when they attacked the way you said? SI should give the dogs the boot.

Bill

Dear Burt,
I also enjoyed reading Jack Rain's market comments.I believe
he still posts on prodigy classic.I last read one of his posts
on that service a couple of months ago.
He still remains one of the nicest and most informative posters
that i've read.
