Mike- a couple of news items on SHMN:

Shaman Raises $14.0 Million in Initial Closing of Royalty-Based Preferred Stock Offering
Each share of the Preferred Stock is entitled to receive the greater of (i) a dividend at a rate of $10 per year, payable semi-annually in Common Stock, or (ii) a pro rata share of a royalty on the company's net sales of its SP-303/Provir(TM) product candidate in the United States for diarrhea (equivalent to a 7% royalty for a total investment of $14.0 million and a 10% royalty for a total investment of $20.0 million).

This sounds like a better way to play SHMN to me. Would you concur?

Also, they released their numbers, which show a deficit in the working capital section. I'm assuming this doesn't include the 14 million in the other release.

SHMN needs to raise money- and the preferred offering helps a bit with out too much dilution, but seems too little to make a dent in their ongoing needs. (Burn rate of 9.6 million/qtr). This probably has depressed their stock's price during the past 10 weeks, and it looks like Lisa Conte is buying time.

Any comments?
