Was the Symbios acquisition a signal that LSI's core business was in
deep trouble ? Has there ever been a company with more design wins and less top line growth ? Shane felt so strongly that the money LSI
was pouring into R & D would result in future business. I suspect that many of us (myself included) felt the same way. However, it appears that the company was so focused on pushing technology that it lost track
of the commercial viability of the new technology. What a classic
example of the CEO losing contact with reality. The CEO either lives in a fantasy land or has a penchant to intentionally mislead. I have reached a point where I don't believe anything the CEO has to say. (I thought Wall Street was lacking intellectually and they figured this out many quarters ago before I did). It is so interesting how the CEO
continues to fail to deliver and yet remains so arrogant.
