tippet,

One reason for the KLSE's 8% boost is that yesterday Mahatir told the press that among other tactics to support a recovery he was looking closely at Hong Kong's recent support of the market and that the Malaysian government may buy stocks to boost the KLSE.

It will boomerang (IMHO) when the broader investment community begins to appreciate what this really means. It seems to me that every time he speaks he makes it harder and harder for an off shore investor to consider Malaysia.

I would'nt put a dime here beyond what I spend in living expenses.

Best,
Stitch
