When we don't judge, we are doomed to accept the kind of "inappropriate" behavior we have seen from this President. I think we should shoot higher (no pun intended). JLA

<<The fact is that Clinton did what more than 50% of Americans do--he cheated on his wife and he lied about it. >>

He did far more than that. The numbers you refer to (by the way, it was 60% of men and 25% OF women, and included people with significant others as well as married people) include numerous 1-night stands and instances that didn't even go as far as oral sex. When that report first came out many years ago, I was interested enough to get a copy. It seems that most Americans have higher standards than Clinton, even in their definitions of "cheating".

Of course, the majority of people that admitted to affairs regretted it afterwards and discontinued the behavior. Clinton has neither shown regret, nor any indication that he will stop the behavior. That is the major distinction between Clinton and the "reality around me" you described. His behavior is very different even from those sinners you were describing.

<<Yeah, I believe in upholding principles and values, but that doesn't mean I'll impose mine on others or that I cover my eyes and don't see the reality around me. >>

Baloney!! We all impose our principals and values on others every day - environmental protection issues, murder/rape and other laws - gun control or abortion issues - even zoning laws. How about requiring a good days work from employees - that's a value and a principal, and is one of the mainstays of American culture. Society is based on imposing a set of values and principals on the members of that society. Otherwise all you have is anarchy and chaos.

I think you're bring trite..

I don't impose my views on others... if you're a Christian.. then you know that the TRUTH that is stated in the Bible is the truth.. whether you try and share the TRUTH with people or not.. it's still the TRUTH..

I don't discount other people's views.. they are entitled to them.. but unless you're a believer in Christ the Lord and the Bible.. then you're not living in the TRUTH...

I make mistakes and YES the world today is FULL of people who cheat, steal, lie, murder, covet, etc.... just shows me that the world is truly a place that needs the Lord...

Neither does that Bible say that just because one is a priest that he is going to be "free from sin" and that he will "never commit a crime".. but the Bible is clear... when those people sin.. they need to be punished and dealt with...

It's VERY ignorant to think that because one claims or does have a relationship with the Lord that he/she will be perfect in their actions..

we are all responsible for what we do... no one should claim that they are just doing what the NORM is...

I once heard someone say that "The church is a place in which the world should be welcome.... but NOT comfortable"...

how true that would hold today... we all have things in our lives we need to be accountable for.... those that are more serious and break the law (governmental laws or the laws of the Bible) will eventually have to answer for those sins..

Thank God that thru Him my sins are forgiven as I know I'm no perfect saint... and I have a Christian relationship with the Lord God because I do... because I choose to... NOT because someone on TV seems to be the greatest person in the world... EVERY proclaimed Christian preacher in the world could wake up tomorrow and announce they've molested children the past 10years and that wouldn't change MY relationship with the Lord nor my feelings on morality nor would it change the TRUTH of the Bible...

you wouldn't find me waking up saying, "Well, then if all these priests are molesting children or having affairs.. then I guess it's just about time that someone rewrite the Bible to allow gays and adulterers and pedifiles to be considered to be following their own desires and that must be acceptable then"...

HIS truth will NEVER change..

I'm not trying to be holier than thou as you said... but try and understand that morales DONT change due to your environment.. they come from within based on the law you consider to be your truth..

for me that's the Bible and the Constitution... if it's not found in either of those... then I have to use my best judgement.

wishing you well!
