Lee, what is really exciting about Dell's performance is that it was accomplished in the face of price cutting by its competitors and severe weakness in the Asian economies. I could only imagine what will happen when Asia rebounds.

But let me lay out a best of all possible worlds (a la Dr. Pangloss) scenario. The slowdown in Asia has allowed Dell to establish a firm Asian foothold -- sales actually grew by 34%! This means that Dell will be in a position to reap huge sales as Asian economies rebound. In the mean time, I think it is likely that HWP may withdraw from the PC market and focus instead on servers.

Something else to consider. A 15% growth in computer sales over the next decade implies a quadrupling of computers. That may be much lower than what will actually occur. Third world countries entering the 21st century will require 21st century technology to stay abreast. Therefore, I look for a lot of incremental growth coming from east Europe, cenrtral Asia, South America nad Africa. That could easily add another 2-3% growth for the next decade.

TTFN,
