CYCOMM INTERNATIONAL INC. AWARDED $1.3 MILLION PCMOBILE ORDERS;

New Orders From Police Departments in Plano, Richardson and Dennison,
Texas

MCLEAN, Va., Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Cycomm International Inc. (Amex:
CYI) announced today that it has recently been awarded domestic
contracts totaling $1.3 million for its PCMobile rugged laptop
computers.

The City of Philadelphia ordered additional PCMobiles valued at
$780,000 for its law enforcement agencies. This order recognizes the
growing importance of rugged PCMobiles as an integral component in the
continuing development of Philadelphia's program to modernize its
City's police departments and other public safety agencies'
communication and information technology systems. The City of
Philadelphia first ordered PCMobiles in January, 1997 and now has
purchased or ordered a total of 662 PCMobile rugged laptop computers.
Shipments for the latest order are scheduled to begin in September,
1998.

Additionally, the Company received new PCMobile orders from police
departments in Plano, Richardson and Dennison, Texas totaling
approximately $500,000 with some shipments starting in September, 1998.
These orders, together with the $1.4 million order from Harris County,
Texas earlier this year, demonstrate the strong and growing presence
for PCMobiles in Texas, one of the Company's largest potential markets
for the product.

"These orders represent Cycomm's growing success in building market
share in the rugged mobile computing public safety market," said Albert
I. Hawk, CEO of Cycomm. "The public safety market continues to expand
and our PCMobile continues to be the leading product for this market."
