The SPOO is based in increments of .10 and the Mini in increments of .25, but other than that they are pretty darn close. They are supposed to be the same, but if they always were the arbitrage boys would not make any money! :)

Close. But in a fast market it's a crapshoot. You can normally watch the ES but if all hell breaks loose I would not trust it, just because it's the "little guy" and the spoo is going to run wild while the ES plays catch up.

Normally though, you can price the spoo off the ES.
