Roy, The pump-n-dumpers FutureSuperStock show shares outstanding for AVIA at 9,375,000 and a measly 1,800,000 in the float. This is from their original analysis (dated February 1998) of the company which marked the beginning of AVIA's long, slow decline. It would most certainly appear that the MM's are currently manipulating AVIA downward. Watching the trades this morning, an opening 100 share trade sent the stock down 22% and the spread between bid and ask was 22 cents. Then, a 500 share buy sends it back to yesterdays close. Who would want to buy if you can't take advantage of the decline in price? It looks like they are trying to make the stock very unattractive to buyers. For what reasons? I have a few theories of my own, but none come to a logical solution yet. My best guess is that they are working AVIA down so the conversion for POKR equals 1 for 1 or at least something close to that, although I haven't worked out the benefits in that theory. Anyone care to speculate? What is the best strategy right now? Like you said, it seems the 'no-brainer' is to buy POKR. As long as the current prices hold, it's a sweet deal. Looking at the long-term picture, POKR has always been significantly undervalued as a stock and including the acquisitions that AVIA has already made, I've calculated revenues of around $50 million annually according to the tidbits of info in the press releases and POKR's past, present and future performance. I think that once POKR and AVIA become one, the stock price (hopefully) will reflect the true value of these companies. Let's all keep our fingers crossed. It's a long way to November. back to lurking, m.s.
