<< Starr was unable to find chargable offences in Arkansas or in the Washington DC travel agency >>

Even the federal judge that was involved in hearing the case that Clinton's people brought against the head of the Travel Office said that it was an inexcusable abuse of power. We don't know what evidence Starr has against the first couple - it may include just such things as you say don't exist. Starr would have to have the most unassailable case possible precisely due to the rabid defense he gets from his supporters (I mean rabid as in tough, determined, etc., not in any bad sense).

One thing to keep in mind - a crime need not have been committed to result in an impeachmnet. Impeachment is a political issue, not a legal one, and Starr's investigation is aimed both at indictments and at potential articles of impeachment.

Hey with that reasoning the Feds would have stopped going after Al Capone or John Gotti after only 40 million and a few years. These people had good lawyers and an array of allies that thwarted the feds for years. And the mafia didn't have the media and almost 1/2 of congress as allies.

40 million so far has gotten the Gov. of Arkansas convicted and resigned. The McDougals and Web Hubbell. I say spend 40 million more. They are spending how much on that guy in North Carolina with helicopters, 200 federal agents, dogs, etc. What a waste, just put 4 informants in the town, offer a reward and wait. No, they have to make a political statement.

The Republicans should now just say we can't deal any more with a liar and leave it to the electorate in Nov. If they want to elect associate liars to take over congress, then fine. But there should be no more negotiating with a liar.

Polls; hah, hah, hah. Flash back to the polls in Germany in the mid 1930's where the people knew best , right?
