<<Its running pretty fine right now>>

This is where I think we disagree. In other posts I've pointed out some of the foreign policy problems I see. Domestically, I see fragmentation and use of victimization to avoid personal responsibility (welfare, racial issues, right vs left, religious vs everyone, PACS vs humanity). The economy is doing okay, but that's not due to anything either the President or Congress has done. It's more due to the fact they haven't done anything, so businesses have fended for themselves. If Clinton stays in office, he is where the focus will be, not on fixing Social Security, education, Medicare, etc. IMHO, people are not going to let go of this until Clinton leaves. Who would replace him? Al Gore. I may not like Gore or his positions on much of anything, and he may turn out to be tainted by the Chinagate and campaign contribution scandals, but it's better than where we are now.

Another way of looking at all this - if more information comes out, especially about China, campaign contributions and the satellite technology, maybe the American people will finally wake up and realize their elected officials are greedy, money-hungry, power-hungry, self-centered .........and start demanding real candidates.

You sound like my son who is at Columbia U. going for his PHD. a lot of brains but no common sense.
