If only a fraction of the allegations about JFK were true, I think there is good reason to believe that he did have a sexual liaison in the White House. I didn't read the books about FDR's and Ike's women, so I cannot confirm whether they were in the White House, but they certainly occurred while they were President and were far more extensive and long-term than Clinton's dalliance with Lewinsky. For god's sake, Grover Cleveland had an illegitimate child while he was in office. I worked for a time in opposition research for a Democratic campaign in the 80s and I can tell you that the rumors of George Bush's exploits while he was VP would come across the transom virtually every day. Anyway, why does it matter? The White House, unlike most workplaces, is both an office and a residence. I don't get into a tizzy over the fact that this was done on government property or government time.
