To All, Better To Be Lucky Than Good Dept: Last week, I sold all of my Ciena puts. Or so I thought. Today my accountant called to ask why I still had a position with just one put in it, given that that is not my usual trading style. Which put, asked I. A Ciena 70 strike price, perspiring today. I hadn't looked at the the stock today. Oh, Mama! Hey, I'm brilliant even when I don't reconcile my accounts correctly. -g- My broker, a discounter, confirmed that I somehow (o.k., I miscounted, but I would like to pretend that it is divine justice) missed a put when I closed my position. Now, if I could get a one lot like this one every day, I would be a happy man. Actually, this isn't the first time this has happened. It is just the first time it worked out this well.

On a more serious, I usually do count o.k. when I have both shoes off, subject, Ciena's move down today surprises me. I expected a move to the mid-50s and got out in the low 50s. I never expected AT&T to refuse to even look at their products. Man, Tellabs is usually a lot smarter than this. Did somebody not do his due diligence? Is the other Michael Birke gonna be ticked off? Is the bear Catholic and does the Pope, well, you know, in the woods?

Good Luck,

MB
