Dear Gregor:

A long prayer list, all of which are important. I am in agreement with you in prayer for each and every one of these children of God. Father, please answer these prayers of your servants. In Jesus' name, amen.

In Christ, Tom

Gregor, I have prayed for each of the people you listed. Debilitating diseases are an awful thing, although I suppose there must be a purpose. His will be done. Amen.

I had a disturbing experience in church Sunday. The pastor asked us to ask someone near us if there was anything bothering them. I was seated next to a stranger, but I asked him. It turned out his wife had just left him and he was looking at a fight just to be able to see his kids. He was pretty depressed. We talked a few minutes, then the service started back up. It occurred to me we hadn't even exchanged names. I decided to get his name when the service ended and invite him to call me if he wanted to talk (on a personal basis; I figured if he learned my profession he might think I was trolling for work, which was not my intent). But when it ended, he got away before I had a chance to ask.

What bothers me most about this, is that I feel like the Lord put this man in my hands and I dropped the ball. So, until church next Sunday, I'm praying for him, the nameless "man in the pew". And I am asking God to help me do better next time he gives me an assignment. And I'm asking for prayers for the both of us in that regard.

In Christ, Ken.
