Bruce, No one needs to have a REASON to let status stay the same. But one should have done some homework and come up with a reason to CHANGE.

As to not qualifting for AMEX, anyway, I am glad to see you agree. Therefore this is just a discussion for no reason but to learn more about possiblities.

So far I've learned that some people think the grass is greener on the AMEX. Unfortunately they seem to have done zero research on the matter other than listening to their "gut".

You asked if the price of the stock DCTC was higher wouldn't that mean they qualify for AMEX listing. I believe you are correct. They'd also qualify for NASDAQ NMS if the price was higher.
