My interpretation of what is happening: "short MMs" are covering and they are downticking the price in order to cover at a lower price. The low price is thus "artificial", as price is downticked on "sells" and not upticked on "buys". The question is: why are the shorts in such a hurry to cover at this time? Shorts only cover when they expect the price to go up. The fact that they are hurrying (look at the last 2 trading days-almost 100,000 shares changed hands just before or AFTER the close of the market) would suggest that what ever is going to happen, will happen imminently!
