Mike,

Yup. Alive and breathing.

I think within 5 months we are going to have a very good idea of which way CREAF is heading. SBL will either deliver or not. If so, hopefully we can get back to the 20-30 range. High end video will also be important. DVD's contribution should also continue to grow. I continue to think that DVD will not take off significantly until more software titles (not movies) are made available. I think we are going to see the number of DVD titles increase significantly as we move into the holiday season and over over the next 12 months. More and more PC's are shipping with DVD's instead of CD-ROMS. The software companies are getting more and more incentive to deliver DVD titles every day.

I really wanted to get a DVD when I recently purchased my new PC but I chose a CD-R (in addition to a CD-ROM) instead. There just isn't enough justification for me to get a DVD...yet. The MS/Encarta DVD would be a nice reference. Other than that, I haven't seen a title that interested me. I understand that a set of DVD's with every word and picture of every edition of National Geographic is coming out relatively soon (from TLC, I believe). That would also be a nice package. But right now, I was more interested in CD-R for making audio CD's.

I do think DVD is going to be the next super media which will ultimately (when DVD-RAM standards are set) replace many devices including VCR's, audio CD's, CD-ROM's, CD-R, CD-R's, and CD-RW. Hopefully, CREAF will continue to be a leading marketer in this field. DVD will be very competitive but I think the total opportunity will be huge. CREAF just needs to make sure they get their fair share.

Good luck to all,

FF
