Many on this thread placed great importance in the negative AMAT remarks from the genius analyst of the semi industry, Tom Kurlak. The following is his "analysis" of LSI. He upgraded the stock on June 4 and then today, after a 4 point drop, he downgrades it. This from a person who has the reputation for correctly "calling" industry movement. Hard to believe......Jeff
PS When Tom Kurlak upgraded on June 4 the stock was trading at 25. Prior to his downgrade today the stock was trading at around 16. Hope he doesn't upgrade AMAT

<<Analyst Downgrade

Also today, Merrill Lynch analyst Thomas Kurlak downgraded
LSI to ''neutral'' from ''accumulate,'' citing the shortfall in
U.S. orders, the decline in the Yen and concerns over the Symbios
purchase, which he said would dilute LSI's earnings.

Kurlak, who upgraded the stock June 4, said in a report the
decision to buy Symbios ''may be poorly timed'' because of a
slowdown in the market for Symbios' computer chips, used in
expensive computer servers.>>

John,

Thanks for that. I thought LSI farmed out most of their stuff to foundries in Asia, since that's where their biggest markets are. Didn't realize they fabricated much themselves anymore.
