I try to read theHouston Press weekly. Since the Houston Post was bought out by the Houston Chronicle this is the only alternative. They have excellent in depth investigative features and are quite informative with regard to the local political scene(back room,that is). It's free and available all over town (similar to the Village Voice in the big Apple) and read by most of the locals I know. It will be interesting to follow up next week with the letters to the editor.
