CNBC reported today that Tower Records announced that is beefing up its presence in on-line retailing. It seems Amazons' move to diversify its business away from books - just exposes it to more huge, well capitalized competitors, albeit in a different industry. The UK's HMV Records can't be far behind. In the next few years, Amazon will be fighting wars on different fronts with some fierce battle hardened players. Tough to see how they will survive. This may explain Amazons' recent acquisitions and a seeming move away from direct e-tailing. Comments?
