Katherine, Re mechanics of the survey. Results are compiled as received from the equipment makers. The Book to Bill will not be issued prior to a quota being attained. Once enough companies have reported in each category, the Preliminary Book to Bill is issued. Additions, corrections or other changes received for the previous months are factored in resulting in the penultimate month being Revised and the month before that becoming Final. It's a 3 month moving average, so the above is not a precise description of the mechanics. In addition, the numbers are "seasonally adjusted" in accord with a non published formula. In other words, the numbers may be the best we've got, but they're far from being the chip equipment bible. FWIW, Ian.
