$5 to record, package and ship 2 VHS tapes. One, single sided, dual layer DVD has 1 and 1/2 hrs left over, and costs a little over $1. I bet you could sell it at a higher price too.......................

One thing Paramount will not be doing is offering ''Titanic'' in the new DVD format.

If there is any new film that would seem to cry out for DVD treatment, it's ''Titanic.'' But Paramount is just now releasing its first few films in DVD -- and ''Titanic'' isn't among them.

So, for now, ''Titanic'' will be available only in the two standard VHS formats: pan-and-scan and letter-box.
