ALL>> The latest issue of Forbes ASAP magazine has a very interesting article on the role ERP can play in mergers and acquisitions. The company is Duke Energy, and they use a PeopleSoft system, but I assume that it would work with SAP too. Duke says their whole M&A program would fail without the software, which allows it to merge and refigure the the employee benefits and payroll records of the new entity. The system also adjusts for new projects ,budgets, and payrolls. AS computers in general have made more M&A possible because of increased communication which allowed the release of many middle managers, apparently ERP can further extend this capability. Eventually this will result in fewer, but stronger companies, all of which will need ERP more than ever.

Boy, is this board quiet! So is the stock. I am beginning to think it will stay about where it is until a quarterly report has some good news. Following my normal "Russian Army" approach to investing, I may close out my position for now and add the funds to my Cisco position. Diver, you were asking what I would do with new money right now, and my answer is Cisco. BTW, this board seems to get intelligent messages from more nice people than most. the MFST board reads like a chat room for 12 year olds!
