<<they (the Media, opposing factions, and anyone else they could find) plastered all the dirty laundry they could muster and showed it world wide, not to mention how much of "OUR" tax dollars were spent.>>

A certain amount of our tax dollars are spent every year enforcing the law. You know that. I for one am very happy to allocate only $50 million over 5 years to make sure the President of the US abides by the law and does not abuse his power. This amount pales in comparison to the discretionary spending the president gets to make every day in office. For example, when it got hot in Texas, he allocated $100 million for air conditioners and fans. His China trip cost $45 million alone. $10 million per year out of a national budget of $1.5 trillion is a very very small price to pay.

Now, the other issue is how it is spent. The president himself, by delaying the truth for 7 months, has cost taxpayers at least $7 million.

As for the other points in your post, this investigation is about obstruction of justice and abuse of power. Not sex. His fate will be decided on legal merits, not sexual. Those are what you should pay attention to in the next several weeks. Not sex.
