The real problem is if people are not upset with this lack of trust... this guy is a pathological liar.

"And if he lied about that with such ease, why should we believe anything else he has ever told us"

For the same reason we believed any other president...Show me a president and I'll show you a liar! I'm not saying Clinton isn't a sleaze, what I AM saying is that unlike presidents in the past who have done worse, the media no longer respects the presidency, regardless of who's in office...They are out for a story...and they sucker Mr. and Mrs, front porch into falling for this sappy soap opera that isn't really a story...Did you know President Grover Cleveland had sex with a teenager in a closet in the Whitehouse, while his wife was kept away by secret service agents? She kept asking what all the noise in the closet was! Yes he fathered that illegitimate kid, but did the public find out? No..the media respect the presidency back then..FDR had a few affairs himself, he too was protected by the media...so was JFK...Just watch, no matter who becomes president next, you'll see a scandal blown out of proportion by the media and the public will think it's a horrible thing for this nation....America should wake up, read the history books, and then take into account that these presidents are hired to run the country, not spread god's word!

Mark:

> BILL CLINTON IS A LIAR !!!!!!!!!!!

Oh come on Mark. What does getting a little B.J in the oval office have to do with how Clinton runs the country?! Sure it was a bad thing to do (you know since him being married and all). But do you really think that effected his job as making sure America is prosperous? I was a Republican but after all the things that have happened I have turned into a diehard Clinton supporter. Republicans are a bunch of jerks trying to take advantage of the situation now (i.e. dirty politics).

With regard to Monica/Clinton relation think of it this way: I think it was a good thing and Monica should in fact be returned back to the White house to do what she "volunteered and wanted" to do (remember no one forced her to do anything and she was an adult)! Why should she be returned back to the White House? Well, just think about it. President of the United States is the most powerful man in the world and he goes through a lot of "tense" moments every single day. That would impact his performance. No one wants to have a president who is tense (remember Nixon or Bush)?! After all the more relaxed you are the better of a job you can do. With Monica giving him the often relaxation he needed, she in fact helped the president to do his job better.

Therefore I think neither Monica nor clinton should be criticized for anything. Insted I think Clinton should be viewed as someone who truly has made this country prosperous for the past 6 years, and Monica should be viewed as someone who did make sure President get the calmness and relaxation he needed to perform his job better!! In fact I think there should be a permanant position at the White House whose duties include those that Monica set the standards for, and in fact this should be included as part of making sure future presidents also do their jobs as calm and as relaxed as possible which ultimately is good for all of us (and in fact the whole world).
