Clare, interesting comments. Do you have info on a brain drain from CSCO, i.e., personnel from purchased start-ups who leave CSCO when their contracts/option vesting schedules permit it? I realize that CSCO's ascending stock price has probably helped keep the attrition to a minimum. But, LU/ASND would seem to have similar prospects (i.e., strong stock price appreciation and huge market opportunity) and, thus, would also keep attrition to a minimum. Of course, top-quality CSCO, ASND and LU personnel will always leave for start-up options opportunities (e.g., Juniper Networks, etc.)

briefing.scam gets snide (life's tough as a contrarian indicator...)

Computer Networking

It's getting a little dull in the networking industry these days, as all the merger activity/talk has dried up... Isn't it about time, rumors begin to circulate that Ericsson, Lucent, Intel and/or IBM plans to buy FORE Systems (FORE), Ascend (ASND), Newbridge(NN), Shiva (SHVA), etc.

You have a point though... 880 is a parking lot. They'd be late for meetings all the
time.

Old world thinking. Heard of videoconferencing?
