The broker site you mentioned was concerned only with the "Bell Labs" bug, which has been squashed: microsoft.com There have been no reports of any sites that are using this to monitor users, nor of any users who have been affected by it. Q. Who does it affect? A. This problem potentially affects users of Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.x and 4.0 Platform Preview 1 for Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0, as well as Netscape Navigator and Communicator. It will not affect future releases of Internet Explorer 4.0. (my note: Preview 2 has been available for about a year now, so if you've DL'ed since then, you shouldn't be affected. Always check your version number.) Q. Who does it not affect? A. This problem does not affect Internet Explorer or other browsers running on Windows 3.1, Windows NT 3.51, or the Macintosh. (of course!). It does not affect future releases of Internet Explorer 4.0. Q. Can I protect myself without the fix?
