Domestic Partner

Instead of dwelling on Jack's dog, we should be considering the question of why it's taking so long for VVUS to nail down a domestic partner. After all, if a deal were struck, it would take just a few days to paper the deal. Obviously, VVUS has been intent on securing a U.S. partner for a month (publicly) and maybe longer (privately), so each passing week with no partner means we've got a problem, Houston.

I suspect there's only one prospect--JNJ. Could it be that JNJ is less than thrilled with the deal it made for international sales, and accordingly is driving a very hard bargain for U. S. distribution? There is no downside for JNJ in waiting three months or six months, as U. S. sales stay flat or erode and VVUS becomes more desperate to do the deal on JNJ's terms.

Hope that Leland is working hard to line up several suitors, or VVUS won't be going to the altar any time soon.

Still long, but cut my position down 60% by liquidating the wife's IRA holdings at a 7.5% loss last week.
