Stitch,

I would expect that you might have some insights which would allow you to better time things than me.

I look at EWM which was trading around 15 or so pre-meltdown (now around 2 1/2) and keep thinking that recovery may be some years away, but don't expect there to be an opporunity to get in once there are clear signs of recovery. This is somewhat counter to experiences seen with crashes in our market and Japan's, but I think that the loss in value of assets has been somehwat exacerbated by the IMF's policies.

At this point I don't know whether to wait for the devaluation of the yuan or not (to purchase more). Others have discussed the possibility that it's already been priced in, in some of these markets and there might actually be a rally when it occurs. For some reason I don't expect it to be much of an event as far as real economic prospects go (if indeed it happens) -- there may be a temporary effect on the markets of course.

Japan must and will do something in the next 6 months to a year, IMO. Usually recoveries start when everbody is convinced that there won't be one.

Appreciate your insights, though and enjoy lurking over here.
