Steve, CMB is loaded with Asian derivatives, as are Citicorp and Bankers Trust and JP Morgan. The problem is, we don't know how much of what at each firm. For example, if a bank has a bunch of BAnk of Tokyo derivatives, I do not feel nearly as bad as if they had a slug of Gum Chewers Bank of Kuala Lampur contracts on their books. The banks simply won't tell you this information. However, you have to read a bit between the lines. When Indonesia was negotiating with the IMF, Chase was regularly consulted for its opinion. My guess is that this was an interested consultation, not a contracted consultation. <G>

I wouldn't add Chase puts right now. I would prefer to add positions above $70 on the stock. But, at that time, the Jan 65s 1999 or the Jan 60 2000 Leaps would be the ones to buy, IMHO.
