VMan (or others with a financial bent): I'm troubled by Skynet's performance in the latest Loral 10Q which shows this quarter's Revenue and EBITDA as 30M and 17.5M respectively. These figures grew from 2Q97 (the last quarter without Telstar 5) results of 21M Rev and 16M EBITDA. So one could say that T5 caused Revenues to grow 9M/Qtr (30%), but EBITDA by only 1.5M/Qtr (10%). With the late 98 launch of T6 and mid (to late) 99 launch of T7, Skynet will get an effective growth in revenue in 1999 of maybe one equivalent satellite-year's worth. It's hard to see how that is going to drive 1999 EBITDA to anywhere near the 200+M implied by your August 14 post, let alone Readwares 1/98 estimate of 300M$ EBITDA for Skynet in 1999.

V-man, just wanted you to know that your last would be my nominee for post of the week-month-year. Buffett stands for a lot of things but perhaps his patience is the most outstanding. Your response reflected exactly that.
Hell dudes, we're talking rocket science here, literally. There will by definition be a few hitches in the giddy-up along the way. I've got a few friends who hail from down Texas way and those guys have the best cliche's in the world. One of my favorites is: if you want to run with the big dogs, you've got to learn to p*ss in the tall grass.
Think about it: Bernie ain't building a hot-dog stand here. If LOR's fender is going to get dinged a few times on the way and that's going to cause you heart-burn, then it's probably not the stock for you. I intend to add tomorrow. Just my vote. Mike Doyle
