Elmer,
RE:"BTW I don't remember saying they couldn't produce
them, only that they can't make any money producing them."

Back tracking a litle, hey Elmer?
Maybe it was Yousef who said they couldn't make a 333 much less a 350.

On the other hand, what makes you think AMD can't make any money on a 350? Hint, they can. Especially at an ASP of $200.
You think that AMDs yields are a lot less on 350 Mhz chips?
Keep on thinking that and short the stock...weren't you saying to short it a while ago...now you say it's a trading stock between $17-$19? At least that's progress.
Blame Intel and TI for dragging down the chipmakers today.

Jim

Elmer:

<< I think it would just be a token announcement to keep from being further humiliated by Intel's 450mhz PII. >>

You amaze me. There is always a reason out of you to trash AMD regardless of what they do. First no major OEMs, then socket 7 K6 poor FPU, then no SS7, then phantom 0.25um K6-300, then "useless" SIMD FPU to blast mutant aliens, then VD virus of K6 chips, then phantom K6-2-333, then more losses, and now "token announcement" on phantom K6-2-350. Any more predictions out of you? Would you care to guess at what speed can AMD take to socket 7 by year end?

Actually the deliverance of K6-2-350MHz will make Intel looks stupid. Intel said that socket 7 has hit the wall and must go to Slot 1 due to superior DIB, blah, blah, blah. Well guess what? SS7 K6-2 "matches or outperforms" slot 1 clock for clock. Intel HASN'T TAKEN any advantages of high SRAM clock rate. Next year AMD will show Intel how to use the high speed backside the right way with their K7.
