Hi Mohan,..Re:<<Deflation>>

Sorry it took so long to answer but kept getting '503 Service Unavailable' all morning. I think SE Asia is in a deflationary environment but I don't see that happening here if agree that the definition is a lessening of the amount of money in circulation resulting in a sharp increase in it's value accompanied with a fall in prices. Our M2 is supposedly growing at a 6% or greater rate and once demand returns for grains and crude, prices will rebound. Also, apparently some in SE Asia (S.Korea) have taken the necessary steps to repair the economy so it's not a stretch to think that demand will slowly pick up going forward.

Since we export a good deal of our grains, and demand, especially in SE Asia has decreased, and harvest will just be starting, it's understandable that prices are low. But, like the weather, this could change any time. Especially since China has had some severe flooding and may import more this year. There is also talk that they may have to import more crude as well since some of the flooding has affected their oil fields. Not sure how but heard that report yesterday.

Dell on sale this morning.<VBG>
