I didn't see how what you wrote would preclude the doughboy. Mythology might come into play in that his actions have the making of a myth, a story passed down to inspire others to similar actions and to revere the actions of those before them.

What the heck was I trying to say? Something like, if a person acts from instinct, is that act moral or merely human, acting from an inate goodness, perhaps?
