That is the opposite of my theory. We should pay our congress $1 per year.

Last year, a study showed that 99 out of 100 US Senators were in fact multimillionaires. These people want the power. They aren't in it for the salary. If we cut pay to $1, I bet not one would resign.

That's an interesting proposal.

I have two questions on that:

1) Cannot a world class executive make considerably more money heading a Fortune 1000 or a Silicon Valley startup?

2) Does money really motivate a Washington politician or is it the potential for great power and influence?
