Unless you know someone, nobody can legally (according to the licensing agreement) sell you the complete 95/98 OS unless they are also selling you a new computer.

As far as the upgrade, I have done about 20 of them, and I've seen virtually no problems. One thing to remember, you must have the floppies or CD from your previous OS handy when you do the upgrade. The installation of 98 will ask you for them, to make sure you are legally entitled to the upgrade. And, if your prior OS is on floppies, it will randomly ask you for specific floppies in the set. I have also seen it ask for all the floppies, albeit in a random order.

I still think you should go with NT. <g>

>> Should I just buy the Win 98 upgrade or by a complete 98 operating system and do a new install? Pros/cons?

Save your money and just buy the upgrade. You can use the Win 98 CD to perform either an upgrade or a new install. Also as I understand it if you convert your Windows 95 FAT 16 file system to FAT 32 you are essentially doing a new install.
