I disagree. Bill Clinton graduated first in his class from Yale. He was a Rhodes Scholar. He may be a lot of things but stupid is not one of them. Ordering a military action to take the American people's attention off a sex scandal would be really, really stupid.

Here's my guess: intelligence found the bad guys and there was a good chance that the U.S. could get them if they acted very fast. Remember, this all happened really fast.

Bill would have to make the move in spite of the "Wag the Dog" spin. He would not put people in a combat situation lightly, I guarantee you that.

The point is this: you thought maybe the military strike was a "diversion", to take the public's mind off of other matters. Had Bill stayed clean, there would have been no such thought. That is the unfortunate part of this whole scenario.

I wonder how the quantum of evidence supporting the bombings stacks up against the quantum of evidence Starr has amassed regarding the allegations against the Prez.....
