I thought I'd put in my 2 cents....I'm been trading stocks for 15 years and I used to do a lot of penny stocks back in the 80's ... all the people who think this is some kind of conspiracy by the market makers are nuts... I know 2 traders personally at MASH and HILL (also have a very good friend at a small house who makes markets for me). These guys don't short stocks like they used to!!!! they are under a lot more scrutiny by the regs and they also never know when some tout sheet will make this their pick of the month.... so by in large they like to remain flat and trade from their positions!!! I know it's hard for a lot of you people to believe but if they're on the offer than they are SELLING for somebody and NOT SHORTING STOCK!!! I know because I talk to these guys all the time... These ideas on this thread about MM's are just plain Bulls**t!!!!!

BigTex--Surely it can't be that easy! LMAO :)

Wouldn't CMI have to pay the company directly, lump sum, for all outstanding shares? And wouldn't they have to file with the SEC to acquire more than 5%?

It sounds good, but I don't think CMI has anything to do with the trading level of this stock currently. This appears to me to be MM manipulating the price for their own agenda, like they always do. Whether they are shorting or stockpiling, or some MMs doing each, I don't know (don't care) but at some point the price here will rise (probably quickly) and those that are in will enjoy the ride, each cashing out on his/her own time...

Let's face it, BB stock prices rise and fall when and if the MMs want them to. As traders, all we can do is try to be on board when they go up and jump off when they go down. I've seen too many cases where trade after trade after trade is made at the ask but the price hardly goes up, yet 1 trade at the bid and the price goes right down.

I do enjoy your theories though... Keep 'em coming :)
